CRICKET A BOON OR A BANE

Cricket A Boon Or A Bane

Cricket is the most popular sport in India. It would not be much to say that it is a religion in our country. However, there is a section of people who feel otherwise.

They look at this sport as a major waste of time and blame it for the alleged step-motherly treatment meted out to other sports.

So, what is it about cricket that glues together so many people while it is detested by others? For the answer to this question, let us have a glance at the pros and cons of this sport.

   CONS:-

  1. Cricket is given too much importance by the print and electronic media. It is highlighted immensely while other sports are not given their due attention.
  2.  Indian sportsmen from Hockey, Shooting, Chess, Billiards, and other sports get a minor mention when they win major competitions and bring laurels to the country.
  3. As other sports are not given enough attention by the media and lack funds, it results in less sponsorship and revenue for them.
  4. Other players do not get the best facilities, advanced equipment for training, and adequate foreign exposure.
